DG&A filled the position after a diligent 71 day search with Mr. Barett Hatches, PH.D. Previously Mr. Hatches served as the President and CEO of Swope Health Services where he was promoted to COO of Swope Community Enterprises. During his time at Swope Health Services, he directed and oversaw all operations of a non-profit health system with seven facilities and 450 personnel. Barrett was responsible for a $40MM operating budget, six direct reports, and reported to the CEO of Swope Community Enterprises. In 2009, Mr. Hatches was promoted by the CEO of Swope Community Enterprises to lead all operations as the COO. In this role, Barrett spearheaded strategies to improve operational effectiveness for all entities and programs within the $300MM holding company with 500 full-time employees. He holds his Bachelors of Arts in Political Science from Jackson State University, his Masters of Arts in Management from Webster University, and his Ph.D. in Urban Higher Education from Jackson State University.
