The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Retains David Gomez & Associates to Find Chief Executive Officer

Recently, David Gomez & Associates was retained by The Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE) to fill the role of Chief Executive Officer.

SHPE was founded in California in 1975 by a group of engineers with a vision to create a network of individuals that could band together and serve as role models in the Hispanic community in Los Angeles. Today, SPHE has a network of both professional and student chapters located throughout the United States.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) will work closely with the Board of Directors. An ongoing responsibility for the CEO will be developing a shared vision for the future of SHPE, building an understanding around the mission and developing appropriate annual goals, succession plans and strategies to advance the mission.

The mission of SHPE is to, “change lives by empowering the Hispanic community to realize its fullest potential and to impact the world through STEM awareness, access, support and development.”

The CEO serves as the leader of SHPE. The CEO will have many responsibilities including budget & finance management, ethics/compliance, staff relations, committee relations and planning.

The CEO will also serve as the spokesperson for the organization. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a necessity for this position in order to effectively communicate the objectives of SHPE.
